We would like to provide you with an update on the current air freight market situation from China to the USA. Overall, rates are increasing for this week, and we anticipate further rate hikes leading up to the May Holiday, which falls between May 1 and May 5.

CN-ORD: The demand for airline space is rising due to increased automotive cargoes. As a result, air freight rates have also gone up this week. Currently, airline space is fully booked until this weekend, and we continue to receive inquiries for high-density shipments. Later this week, airlines will prioritize small loose carton shipments.

CN-LAX: We have witnessed a significant increase in the volume of automotive cargoes requiring airline space. The majority of these cargoes have lower densities, leading to limited availability of space and higher rates for lower density shipments. Airlines, however, prefer small high density shipments for this lane. Surprisingly, demand from e-commerce and traditional B2B shipments has weakened this week.

CN-JFK: There has been a surge in demand for this lane from traditional B2B shipments, resulting in a slight increase in rates. We expect rates to continue rising in the next week.

CN-DFW: The demand for connecting flights to DFW has increased, and consequently, rates have also gone up. We have observed a high volume of shipments going from DFW to South America, particularly MTY. In general, the market requires low density shipments in loose cartons.

CN-ATL: Space to ATL is fully booked for the weekend, and availability is extremely limited. Rates to ATL remain stable.
